Application Environment

Wherever aggregate extraction, earth moving, crushing and materials handling takes place, dust generation is a common problem. Yet the impact isn’t limited to operators. Adjacent residential and commercial neighbourhoods or areas of outstanding natural beauty can be severely affected by drifting dust and contamination of local public roads. Seasonal and sudden changes in weather conditions further magnify the problem.

The consequences of failing to address dust issues on site vary in type and significance. At the very least, operators can experience problems with equipment and vehicles as dust builds up, increasing equipment downtime and ultimately increasing maintenance costs. More serious, however, is the threat of notice enforcement, financial penalty and even site closure that can result from community complaints directed at the local authority or Environment Agency.

Product Aim

Dustract® is a well-proven product designed to improve the dust particle penetration properties of water in spraying systems that are commonly used to control dust on working areas, stockpiles and roadways. The reduction of airborne and fugitive dust improves equipment efficiency whilst contributing to operators’ environmental compliance and also protecting the local community.

Product Description

With a ratio of just 1 part concentrate to 2000 parts water, Dustract® is able to break down the surface tension of water droplets that are sprayed through atomisers onto working and handling areas. This process increases the wetting properties of the atomised droplets, so providing improved attraction and encapsulation of airborne dust particles.
